You might have noticed I’ve been messing around with this concept of a flaming sword for a little while. In this side project I was experimenting with the sword in motion.

This is the kind of stuff I really enjoy doing! Unfortunately, it takes some serious computational power. Even with my 8 core 3.5 Ghz processor it still took probably most of a day just to simulate the hair, the dress, the soft body dynamics, and the fluid effects (the flames). That doesn’t even include any rendering time, or anything like that. And then, you never get it right the first time, or at least I don’t. So after, I don’t even know, a dozen plus re-simulations, this is what it turned out like.

I wouldn’t consider this 100% polished, for one, the hair could flow better, etc. I was trying to make this Katharina Hair dynamic…

I wasn’t sure if I should upload this or not, if anyone would find it interesting. But, after the amount of time I put into it, I figured I should do something with it, LOL.

Anyway, if you would like to see more of my W.I.P. give this video a thumbs up, or leave a comment below. Maybe I’ll even render it out sometime.

Just Released! My Ribbed Superhero Bodysuit

Ribbed Superhero Bodysuit

My Ribbed Superhero Bodysuit and it’s texture add-on were just released yesterday!!! I only spent about 6 months working on it, LOL, but only on a part-time basis.

Right now you can get it for 50% from Daz3D, get it now! 😉

I usually like to do a render to celebrate my product’s release. I also just recently picked up this character, Cathy HD, and was excited to use her in a render! Personally, I really like her look. I wanted her to be a little more curvy in this image though, so I dialed in some of Saige’s body.

I hope you like it!!!

Render time: 1 hour 11 minutes 52 seconds.

I did something a little different here. LOL, I say different, but it’s funny because it’s the same character, same concept as my last couple images. But, what’s different is, I rendered it with Mental Ray.

I had to RMA the motherboard of my Iray computer, the BIOS got corrupted somehow when I tried to update it to the latest version. That left me with nothing but my old computer. No DAZ Studio (the hard drive is already pretty much full without it) and no Iray. I did however plan for being without them and had exported this character from Daz Studio to play around with.

Anyway, this is the result of my “playing around.” I’m not very familiar with Mental Ray, when it comes to setting up shaders for it, I kind of… don’t really know what I’m doing LOL! But, I think it turned out interesting enough for me to post.

This is actually just one frame of the animation I did. I want to do more animation, it’s just wicked time consuming.

Render time: 8 hours.

Let me know what you think!

Bruised, but not Beaten

Renderosity recently had a contest, “Let us into your Medieval Fantasy World.” This was my entry:

Bruised, but not Beaten

My Description Read: “I’ve always liked the awesome hero and villains portrayed in medieval fantasy worlds. Just when you think the hero is bruised and beaten, they somehow find a way to prevail. I probably spent around 8 hours on this image. Created in Daz Studio and then layered over a background.”

I ended up getting 4th place.
