Genesis 3 for Maya – Now Available!

September 2, 2018 13 comments

Well it’s official, Genesis 3 for Maya is now available! Actually it’s been available for about a week now. Apparently I’m late to my own party… What can I say, I have a lot of stuff going…

Genesis 3 for Maya

Currently only available in my Gumroad store: https://gumroad.com/laylo3d

Genesis 3 for Maya has all the same great features as Genesis 8 for Maya and fully supports all the Daz Original Core characters.

The features include:

  • Configures Joint Controlled Morphs (JCMs) for all Daz 3D Original Core characters, both male and females (JCMs clean up ugly joint deformations beyond what is capable with just weight maps).
  • Only exports the JCMs that the character uses, not all the JCMs.
  • Organizes the Shape Editor, so you don’t have to dig through all the JCMs to find your morphs, expression, and pose controls.
  • Export morphs, pose controls, and expressions out with your character by simply setting them as favorites In Daz Studio before running the export script.
  • Works with geo-grafts including anatomical elements (minimal manual setup required, I have a video in the manual showing how).
  • Sets up the figure with HumanIK in Maya.
  • Has HumanIK definitions for both MotionBuilder and “roll leaf” joint definitions available in Maya 2016 Extension 1+.
  • Provides renaming options to keep a clean scene and make it easier to set up shaders for Maya.
  • Compatible with Maya 2016+

See what other people have to say about the time saving and animation improving results this product has to offer in the comments of the Genesis 8 for Maya intro video (this Genesis 3 version has all the same great features).

For more information see the Genesis 8 for Maya Manual (Genesis 3 for Maya works the same way except with Genesis 3 instead of Genesis 8).

Flames Facade Freebie!

Flames 01 Freebie

Sorry for the delay, but here it is!!! Better late then never, plus it’s free, so that should help make up for it right?

Flames 01*

Just extract the files to the root folder of your Daz 3D Library and you should be good to go. Load the prop into your scene, re-size and position to your liking, then render away. You can also load in multiple instances, spin them around, etc. to add more variation.

The flames are set up with an emissive shader, so if you load them into your scene and it throws off your lighting make sure to tweak the emissive settings in the surfaces tab.

When rendering the flames make sure to play around with your camera’s Depth of Field, and/or the Render Settings Bloom filter. You can really get some cool looking effects! Messing with the “Cutout Opacity” value of the shader, under the surfaces tab, also seemed like it had potential.

I hope you enjoy rendering with them! Please leave a link to any images you create with the flames in the comments below. It would be really cool to see what you come up with! Also, let me know if you like them, or not…

*I ask that you please do not redistribute them without my written permission, and if you want to share them with others, please link to this post, not directly to the file. You may use the Flames Facade in both personal and commercial projects. If you use them in commercial project, please leave a link to it below in the comments. By downloading the file, you agree to these terms.

I finished my Hollywood Styles Biker Outfit: Sleeveless, Shorts, Capris & Camo Textures Add-on and it finally released!!! Currently you can find it exclusively at Renderosity. I’m super excited about how it came out! I ended up adding presets to turn the pants into shorts and capris, as well as make the top sleeveless!!! The presets work with the original textures too!

I’m am currently working on a camo add-on pack for my Hollywood Styles Biker Outfit. I’m doing both military prints/colors and fun prints/colors. I’m setting up the materials to have a similar shiny, bling, bling look to them as the original textures, but not exactly the same.

Here’s a couple sneak peak pictures:

Hollywood Styles Biker Outfit for Genesis 3 Females

January 17, 2016 Leave a comment

My latest product just released yesterday on DAZ3D.com! It’s called “Hollywood Styles Biker Outfit” made for Genesis 3 Females. The design for this outfit was kind of created by accident. I was messing around with some new software I had bought, figuring it out, and this was the end result LOL. I like the way it came out, hopefully other people do too…

Hollywood Styles Biker Outfit

It wasn’t originally going to be a biker outfit, hence the vinyl materials. It wasn’t until I showed my wife one of the promo images and she said, “It looks like something a biker chick would wear.” I was like huh, it kind of does. And that’s the story behind the name…

Since I was happy with how the vinyl materials came out, I decided to ship it with them instead of making new leather materials.

Check out more pictures of the outfit here!

I Hope you like it!!!

Sci-Fi & Magic Textures for Superhero Monokini

November 29, 2014 2 comments

This is an add-on texture set for my Superhero Monokini. I spent way too much time working on it, but I feel like it has some pretty cool textures. I’m a big sci-fi fan and really enjoy shows like Continuum and the Star Wars series. Another genre I’m into is the medieval times, I really like Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. I like to think this texture set captures some of the essences from both genres.

Electrify

Using ambient lighting I was able to give the textures a glow in the dark appearance (which can be turned off for when you don’t want it).

Smoke

I also used displacement maps to help some of the colors really pop and add a little more character to the textures (can also be toggled on and off).

Flames

This texture set is available on DAZ3D.com.

As always, let me know what you think!

My first commercially available 3D product for DAZ Studio and Poser.

Superhero Monokini

Available here.

I think of it as a swimsuit or superhero outfit.

Please, let me know what you think and if you have any ideas on how I could make it better in the comments below.

Thanks,
